Mt. Pinatubo, 1991

20 years ago I was the photographer for our high school newspaper. At the start of the new school year, Mt. Pinatubo erupted, raining down volcanic ash throughout the northern island of Luzon.

Great photos, didn't know you have these. I remember every minute of it but I don't have photos to look at - the power cut, writing in my journal by candlelight, the clean up when the ash fall had briefly stopped. Yes, winter wonderland it looked like.

I thought I'd lost the negatives, too. I know I took more shots but these are all that I could find from that roll.
