This is completely heartbreaking, but so well-written! It never occurred to me that Jack (I assume it's Jack) would find a way to frame Connor, especially as Jack's in custody. I can understand why it surprised and shocked Connor so much. I think Connor's reaction to the accusation was spot on. I'm sure he must have been torn between anger and fear. I really admire just how perfectly you captured that moment:

Connor couldn’t stop shaking his head as his eyes welled up. The side of his tongue pressed against his teeth as if it had started to swell and blocked out any words he tried to say. His ears echoed the words for him, just to remind him of what he was losing.

I suspect that Becker is going to become a frequent visitor to the caravan considering how supportive he's been since the beginning. If I'm wrong then I trust that Connor will find the strength and courage to get to the bottom of this himself.

Thank you so much for taking the time to keep on reading the story! I hope you're having a good week so far.

Thank you, I'm glad you think I captured that scene well. I think that he's not only losing his job, but he is losing his family too.

Well, I'm hoping Part 5 will be ready soon for you to read. I keep getting ahead of myself and wanting to write the ending! :-)
