Cat at Stonehenge - Summer Solstice 2006

Somehow,in the wee hours of the morning on 21st June I found myself dancing in the centre of Stonehenge. Dancing to drums and didgeredoos, even though I could barely move for the squash of people, looking up every so often at the immensity of the stones as if to remind myself where I actually was ( Read more... )

amazing! thankyou SO much for sharing your solstice experience...i've always been curious what those celebrations are like at Stone Henge, and from the few people i'd heard about it from, they had cheesy remarks to say about it. i always felt a little different about that though, because as you say, it's about people coming together and celebrating/connecting. as simple as that. yet yielding something so powerful, whether for individual or whole ( ... )

no problem! glad if I managed to get some of it across in my writing and the photos. At the end of the day, we don't really know WHAT stonehenge was all about, but something about the dancing and celebrating the rising of the sun did feel as though you could tap into something very old and primal but still intrinsically human.

about the massage, I say definitely look into it more. Did you see my post back in september? I was SO AFRAID of touching other people, but doing this course has seriously put me on a journey and really helped me overcome a lot of fears. As I've said to someone else, now I have the qualification the next stage is seeing what I can do with it. A few years ago, I used to look at my hands, and just wish I could DO something tangible with them.. I wasn't sure what exactly. But the other day, as I finished my final case study I realised there I was, touching, connecting, healing with them...just incredible really ( ... )
