Avacados are dangerous when drunk

Fantastic evening last night, as I invited my friend Jem over for a meal. I used the mushroom sauce I'd cooked chicken legs in the night before as a pasta base, but didn't mention it had once contained chicken as she is vegetarian, and hopefully I picked out all the pieces of bacon as well. (Is that unethical? Subversive carnivorism? I'm not sure ( Read more... )

{Avacado mishap}

Am I allowed to giggle profusely?

Though it could have been worse - much worse - the recipe could have required that you used the interestingly-fragrant Durian instead of avocado.

That's awesome. I know it never feels awesome at the time that it happens, but you will seriously look back on this in a few months and be rolling laughing. :D I wish I could have seen the look on your face as you woke up and saw the mess. Hahaha! *big hugs* You are the best.

actually I thought it was pretty funny myself, I always end up doing silly things every so often I think it helps keep me grounded :)

it depends on the vegetarian...if she is doing it solely for health reasons, not that big a deal. if she is an ethical vegetarian, big bad scary things. in any event she sounds like someone who is respectful of others choices, and thus should be afforded the same respect.

of course i'm vegan, so i may be slightly biased.

I will ask her some time and check. One of the problems was there wasn't much else in the house TO offer if she said no, plus I needed to use it up :) perhaps the avacado incident was some kind of karmic revenge

why are you vegan? (not challenging just always interested)

of course :)

because i don't want those vibes in my body. they seem to weigh a person down - i notice that i am much stronger now, physically and mentally, and spiritual endeavors like meditating come much easier.

nice answer. Do you think it is the same for everyone? Personally I suspect (tho am not 100% sure) that some people do well on vegan diets but others need more animal protein and meat; and if pay close attention to how we feel and what we're drawn to then we will end up eating the right way for us.

Myself, I aim to respect the life that has gone into my food, animal or vegetable. I don't eat a lot of meat at all and I try to buy both locally produced organic/free range/wild food, which I manage about 70% I reckon. To me, direspecting and devaluing our food is more of a problem than whether people eat meat or not.
