that's the aim :) If you don't mind sharing I'd be interested to know how long you've been doing it for and how you managed to build up clients etc..

I have been massaging the public for a year now. I just got out of school a year ago. I started massaging at a yoga institute... actually massaged the yoga teacher trainees when they would come for large programs. And I got some clients through that. I also got clients through my internship that I did before I got out of school. Some of my friends are clients. And then word of mouth. A close friend is making business cards for me and I am going to post those all over the place soon.

Because it's very easy for us to sabotage ourselves. Deep down, our fear of failure causes us to do things that will keep us from building the tower of Babel, so we don't all come crashing down, when in reality we could walk right up to heaven, so to speak.

I agree about the glimpses of our dream lives, and either not feeling worthy of it, or else not believing anything that good ever actually happens. I know I was there just a month and a half ago, and I tried to sabatoge myself real good. Fortunately, I have such an amazing friend/lover/partner in Deke that he didn't let me get away with it that easily and opened my eyes to how destructive I was being not just to himself but to me, too. And now I am figuring out ways to catch that glimpse and make it a reality. It is hard work! But it is worthwhile work, and makes the child in me sing.

I am glad you are trying to make a living out of massage! It is so scary to work with our bodies and hands, to interact intimately with others, to be paid for it. But it is much more rewarding than the filter-some work behind desks and phones and counters. Don't be afraid to make it happen for yourself. It will be hard, but at the same time, easier than you can imagine, once you find yourself doing it.

*hugs*
