Hello World

Oct 03, 2007 15:29

It's been a really really long time since I wrote anything on this. I have been using a different journal off and on for a bit. In fact I think it's been about a year since I wrote on here. I needed to go away for a while and do a lot of thinking, planning, reorganising myself. Feel like that has been done now and maybe it's time to reconnect to ( Read more... )

*wavewave* I'm going to friend your other journal, just FYI.

Congrats on the coursework! Heck of a commitment, but I bet it'll be worth it when those five years are up.

Ah, the joys of shadow-work. Internal spring cleaning (complete with dust, and backbreaking scrubbing). Good luck!

that's cool :) It's a bit less public, more friends only stuff and more just general notebook for dreams and feelings.

Congrats on the coursework! Heck of a commitment, but I bet it'll be worth it when those five years are up.

thanks! It's defintely the biggest thing I've ever taken on board and I'm still working through getting my head round it. A big part of it is realising I'm no longer in the questing zone of "hmm I wonder what I should do with my life" but actually committing to a path and my own potential. On a practical level I've gotten rather lazy and this is going to be a bit of a kick up the bum in terms of working hard again.

Good luck!aaaah....it's my fault, I did an invocation inviting my shadow to come into my life over the summer solstice this year (I went to stone henge again :)) without really realising what I was letting myself in for! *nods* I'm getting to the point where I'm finally figuring out what I want to be when I grow up, too ;) Having to put things in motion requires patience, but all in good time.

That's one of the things about shadow work--we realize, on a certain level that we need it, but it always catches us by surprise no matter how much we prepare.

Things go well--in short, moved to Portland, OR (much better than Seattle in many ways), still writing, still making artwork, etc.

I am doing well; sill the crazy mad scientist, though now living in Cambridge and writing computer games for a living. I would definitely like to meet up again at some point. You are good company. ^_^

ha ha brilliant, glad to hear you are doing something you enjoy :)

I am going to be in London quite a lot over the next year so there is possibility of you meeting up there? I don't have a lot of time though.
I have a few friends up in Cambridge so def will be making an expedition there at somepoint - not till the new year tho

Aside from that, give us a shout if you are in the area for any reason.

I think you'd like Cambridge, it's like a flat version of Exeter. London is definitely a possibility; any particular dates in mind?

hi there! where are you these days anyway? up in london? Whereabouts? I will be up there quite a bit and will be looking for places to stay when I'm studying. I found to my cost that rushing about london when I'm up there working is not a great idea, but people could always come and visit me wherever I'm based or meet me at the station when I arrive (usually about 8.30pm on a fri for a quick coffee/chat).

hope all is well with you

Hey Cat!

I've been post-doc'ing in the bone and muscoskeletal group Aberdeen University for the last three years, got another five years on a contract with the arthritis research campaign. Osteopathy, eh? Heaven forbid we meet in a pub anytime soon, I imagine we'd have some 'interesting' discussions! ;)

Take care!

ah wow amazing. I would actually love to meet up in the pub sometime and have a good debate/discussion. One of the cool things I've realised lately is that actually I am ok with being wrong, which means I don't feel that disagreements are a personal attack, which means discussions have become a lot more fun.

With regards to Osteopathy, it may surprise you to know I'm actually quite critical of it as it is currently anyway. I want to try and keep an unbiased/my own viewpoint as I go through the degree.

What I do like is the underlying philosophy, and the dense amount of mechanical anatomical/physiological knowledge I'm going glean from it. That and the fact it was concieved/founded by an eccentric american hillbilly who was into mesmersim and channeling spirits :) (but they try and keep that bit quiet. He's not quite as bad as the guy who came up with chiropractic tho)

I'd be really interested to find out more about what your research is on as well :)

Yeah, you're ok!!! I have been thinking about you, wondering if you were alright. Welcome back! {{{hugs}}}

I would love to hear more about the Fascia work you're doing.

Gosh, I can't remember when we last "talked." We had the catastrophic wildfire at our ranch. I've taken tons of photos of the canyon, learning I love hiking and photography. The big changes are that my mother passed away a month ago, I am now the president of my nonprofit, and we're moving in two weeks to a ranch in northeastern New Mexico (about a 9 hour move). We are very sad to leave our canyon, but we are very excited about the new location and all the opportunities we will have there.

Welcome back! It sounds like you're doing wonderful, exciting stuff. :-)

hi you! *hugs* nice to hear from you! I will try and write something about the fascia, it is pretty cool and it would be good to get my thoughts together.

Lots happening with you as well it sounds like! Sorry to hear about your mother, I hope it was peaceful.

I'd like to see some of the photos from the canyon, sounds great... need to go and catch up a bit with peoples journals, but it's quite daunting task.

I'm kind of hoping I can do another, longer trip out to the states next year, perhaps in the summer if funds permit, maybe even do a crazy roadtrip with my sister-friend Blaze (she lives in CT). it would be brilliant to meet up with you in person if so. I've had an invite to a spa which is a couple of hours south of San Diego, so I hope to be there sometime..that's not too far away is it?? (I am not great with USA geography scale)

I have tons of pics posted in my LJ. You can also see a lot at http://www.tapestryinstitute.org/canyonhikes.html .

Actually, San Diego is pretty far away from where I'm moving to, although not as far as Connecticut. :-) If you have time, and you like big vistas, you should consider New Mexico and some of the other Western states. And you are always welcome to visit me if you want to see this (NM) area! :-)
