Alcoholic. Addict. Dirty Old Man. Fucking Genius Writer...Whether you got him or not, he certainly was one of a kind, and one of the best American authors of the 20th Century.

I loved Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. I didn't realize that was about him until just a while ago, lol. That's a really cool picture, I'd never seen it before.
The best writers are always the ones you don't "get". I learn so much about myself from writing stories, because I'm making these characters that aren't me, and yet, they all have little peices of me in them. It's like, even though I'm not learning anything new from an actual person, I learn a whole bunch from myself...from within. You know?
I didn't really get into him until a few years ago. Having quite a few, um, "experiences" in the past with certain illicit substances, I could relate. Plus, even though I didn't always agree with everything he wrote, it was always refreshing to read his stuff. I hate political correctness and most writers' attempts to not piss people off. Hunter just didn't care what anyone else thought, and he stuck to what he said. I liked that and the fact that he never gave in to the modern media's methods.
In light of what happened, I was trying to find a different picture. But then again, that pretty much was Hunter to a tee...besides, it was pretty hard finding a good picture of him without a gun in it!
