Counted Stars Event: It's Not My Fault!
The Force - perhaps affected by Revan's summoning of Outworlders - caused Lion-O to receive a vision from Hawke's life. In turn, Hawke had a vision from Lion-O's life. They received these as they slept, as if experiencing them from their own POV. These visions felt real, unlike dreams.
From Hawke, Lion-O received her memories of events during the All That Remains quest, which involved the death of Leandra, Hawke's mother, at the hands of the White Lily serial killer, and a magic-related desecration of her remains. She finally died in Hawke's arms, saying she was proud.
(Because Hawke is a customizable protagonist, some details of the memory may differ from the video below. The overall storyline of the quest is the same, involving the same character death and cause.)
From Lion-O, Hawke received his memories of the character Emrick. Emrick, a Petalar, had a naturally short lifespan, and lived out this life as Lion-O's companion, finally dying in Lion-O's arms, and saying wise words to give him hope.
These two memories mirror each other, in that each involves a character to whom the protagonist was emotionally attached dying in their arms. They differ in the manner of death, as Leandra was murdered and desecrated, and Emrick went peacefully in his old age. The dying words of each were important to each that remembered them.
The memories allow Lion-O to recognize many of Hawke's companions, even if he may not have met them himself. Similarly, Hawke will be able to recognize, not only Emrick, but all Lion-O's companions with him that day (Cheetara, Tygra, Wilykat, Wilykit and Snarf)
