Pretty Movies

On Saturday I went to see SIN CITY:

As far as direction and aesthetics go, the film is freaking brilliant. I won't say I know anything about the comic because I obviously don't, but it seemed crude, raw, and I didn't enjoy all that violence. There were some story lines that I liked, like Bruce Willis', and I dreaded others, like Mickey Rourke's.

Elijah was downright freaky. And when they chopped his legs off and fed him to the wolf, it was disgusting. That twisted look on his face was brilliant though and it paid off for the absolute silence from him. How much must he have been paid considering he doesn't speak a single word?

I liked the ending a lot. Rory Gilmore had it coming, for being annoying.

And yesterday we made it to THE ISLAND:

If you've read Brave New World or 1984, you will find nothing new in this film. It's interesting, but action packed and that gets boring. These people survive things you'd never imagine surviving... and it all kinda goes down the drain there. At least it did for me.

The best part is when -after realizing they're clones and running away- they find themselves inserted in the real world. But these were damn smart clones, because they learned stuff way to quickly.

Ewan was looking gorgeous. And so was Sean Bean. That's a very important part of the movie review.

And that's about it.

The best thing about the island? There were TWO of Ewan. *dies*

I still have to go see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and I hope I get to that soon.
