I'm not going to comment specifically on the presidential debate. I doubt I could add much that wasn't said already. However while watching, I started thinking that we should have more of these. Of course the debates aren't perfect, but at least it gives the candidates a chance to address each other and the American people.

Okay, I'm not saying they're specifically running for presidency for the spotlight, but REALLY. They could be spending these 3-billion-or-so tax dollars on CHARITIES, MEDICAL HEALTH, SCHOOLS, POST WAR DEPRESSION THAT WE'RE CAREENING IN TO.
Hell, post-war is what they should be planning for. Like most schools urge us in our U.S. History classes, we need to read and study the past, and correct and ready ourselves for the future! We went through a total Depression just to learn this!
Man, just typing this up gets me aggravated. But, none the less, I agree with you fully.

Exactly! Candidates should be able to prove they're able to do something about these issues before we elect them to use our money to deal with these issues.

Canada's got the same problem, and I think we could use your ideas here too. Politicians raise hundreds of thousands of dollars just to run to be the leader of the political party, and that's before election campaigning even starts... so much wasted money.

So true. I just focused on the expenses for the ads because to think about how much truly gets thrown away would be way too depressing.
