Tomorrow I go back into London for a taekwondo instructors course. This is mainly administrative, involving defense against glue sticks and staplers. And the other part involves a criminal background check so I can get kicked in the shins by children

and yeah, that's interesting that amazon.com helped you keep track of your address details. i solve that problem by never moving.

why would you need a background check to get kicked in the shins by children?

In ten years I had eleven addresses, not including friendly sofas.

Background checks are required to keep out the unsavory characters. Why anybody with a criminal record would present their record to be investigated is beyond me though.
