if i had to live my life again, i'd make the same mistakes again, only sooner.

+i deleted my last entry, which survived but a few hours. i'm generally not a proponent of such self censure, however - there are certain posts that it simply is best not to keep. indeed, the reaction it was written out of was, i am sure, the one that was desired. the experience, i suspect, was in fact fitting. such exercises in masochism get what ( Read more... )

the "adult mentoring" thing you're doing sounds awesome! i saw something similar to that on tee vee and it was really surprising what those kids thought. will you post about their reactions to the anorexia play?

does "what not to wear" count as a "bad" show because although it's obviously like "omg how the fuck can you wear that", the ultimate goal is to get the person into clothes that fit them properly and thus their misconstrued views they have of their bodies go away because they were just dressed in ill-fitting clothes in the first place!

i will totally post about their reactions and my next date with them it's funny you should ask about what not to wear, cause we talked about that show! they brought it up and asked the same questions.. but ultimately concluded it was still bad because the hosts berate the people and treat them like objects and don't care about their views. but they also said it's important to know how to dress your body shape because it will give you confidence and that is important.

they are so awesome. i wish i was that cool at that age. CAUSE I DEFINITELY WASNT.

Where is this yoga class! I was looking into starting a class at one of the places on Whyte but I'm not sure which ones are good.

this is where i go. i take the foundations class with melissa who is one of the owners. the course was recommended to me by my supervisor, who's always a yoga instructor and is super serious about philosophy of yoga and embodiment and the tradition of yoga.. so it's a very different kind of class. it's definitely a workout (pretty intense) and you learn a lot about the history of the practice and how it works. i really love it so far. and i won't lie, the day after (ie today) i am sore as all fucking hell.

I LOVE the whole paragraph about the girls you're mentoring. It made me so happy to read, and it actually gives me HOPE for my possible future daughter (not pregnant, but I'd like to be someday, I think). Ah. Sigh of relief. Yay awesome young girls with brains on their shoulders!!!

they are indeed fabulous girls. i'm going to a session on white privilege with them too, probably in january. they totally make me feel like it's possible i could have kids one day (indeed one of my fears is having a pink loving, girly girl type daughter who would be an alien and whom i would have to leave at the mall to be with her own kind).

This whole marriage/kids/Prada thing is so gonna blow up in his face. OMG.
