It's odd feeling proud to be American. Over the past few years I've visited several countries overseas and would feel an urge to say I'm Canadian rather than admit I lived in the states. The disappointment from foreigners was a palpable force.

See, my experience with foreigners over the past few years has been one of sympathy. No one seemed to have a problem divorcing their experience with an American with what was happening with our government. It's like they knew it wasn't us, and knew it wasn't our fault.

...and thats the problem. It *WAS* our fault. Hopefully, we can proudly say that *this* administration is our doing too...
