May be of interest to FNL fans...

Taylor Kitsch is here in my country! In fact, in my city! He's been cast in a film called The Bang Bang Club which is about a group of four photographers active during the apartheid era through the shift to democracy. I had heard that he was in it (also Ryan Phillipe and Malin Ackerman from Watchmen) but had no idea that they had started filming ( Read more... )

Yeah. He's wasn't what one might have called 'beefy'...

And I shall certainly keep ears and eyes peeled! It's kinda cool actually; we've got this filming up in Joburg, and Matt Damon and crew down in Cape Town doing the Rugby world Cup movie. Why the interest in South Africa all of a sudden...

Just hope they can get the accent right! Lol.

Very interesting - thanks for this!

I'd heard about TK doing this film, but didn't know all these details. Kitsch is building quite a career for himself. First he gets a significant role in 'Wolverine' (guaranteed blockbuster), and now this role in a small, politically significant independent film. At least someone has worked out how to capitalize on success in a network show. Maybe Went Miller should try his agent.

And... 16kg!?! I had to look that up. That's 35 lbs. Taylor Kitsch did not have 35 lbs to lose! Is that him in the photo in the article with his hands on his hips? If so, yikes! I hope he doesn't fuck up his body in some major way doing this. I know he's a health nut, so hopefully he'll have gotten all the best advice.

Best of luck with your TK spotting, hon! :D

I think its amazing for Taylor! And whether it's his influence, or his agent's I think you're right in that he's making interesting and clever choices. Well-respected TV show, blockbuster to really get your name out there, indie film. That's the way to do it. I did have to chuckle at you saying Went should try his agent - stop doing coffee ads in the Far East and get hold of something meaty!

I hope Taylor got some good advice re the weight loss too. I remember Matt Damon saying how he damaged himself losing all that weight for Courage Under Fire, because he wasn't famous enough at the time to have a dietician! Still, I could use some tips from Taylor. Wouldn't mind losing 16kg myself *g*

Ain't that the truth! I tend to think WM might have given himself a problem by refusing to do any sort of 'blockbuster' when his star was rising. If he'd done that, he'd then have been more bankable to Indie producers looking to get a name in their little film. That's what Taylor's done, in effect. But Went wanted to hold out for a film of 'artistic worth' before he did anything else. Oh well, I still hope it works out for him in the end.

Although he also needs to get with Taylor's dietician at the moment (as well as his agent). As, in fact, do I. ;)

*raises hand* Fairly new FNL fan here, thanks to Lee of course.

If you bump into Taylor can you give him a tackle and a kiss from me? And ask him if he combs his hair in RL. :)

How have you been?

Hoorah!! Isn't it such an awesome series? I finally succumbed thanks to the persuasions of Lee and . And I'm so glad I did. Hearing that there are going to be two more seasons, albeit short ones, is just wonderful.

LoL! That's a great question to ask Taylor! Cause I think about that all the time too. Gosh, it be quite something to bump into him/them, but I think I hang out in the wrong areas. :)

Great article CC.
I'm so excited about this movie!!!! You know what? I think Kitsch can really do it- he (a Canadian) had to do a Texan drawl for FNL and a New Orleans accent for Wolverine...nailing the Seouf Efrikan accent is tons more difficult, of course, but he's got the acting chops....I wonder if they'll be filming in Cape town?
*squeeee*
