Last night I watched the first interview of Sarah Palin with Charlie Gibson on Nightline. As I watched this it became painfully evident that she was grossly ignorant of fairly simple foreign policy issues. Last night I had a woman tell me, in all seriousness, that Palin has more experience than Obama.

I have no words.

Watching Stewart last week, I was pretty appalled when Susan asked what makes Palin so qualified one of the answers was, "Well, she's a beautiful woman." Tell me again that Obama's camp is the one being sexist, just try to.

I'm trying to write a MST of the interview but I find I'm sounding more angry than funny. It was funny when Mater parodied herself, but when our "leaders" do it so effectively, it's hard to laugh at it.

You know, she's a very good actress, and she plays her part well. What I find disturbing is that she didn't hesitate to accept the VP offer. SHE DID NOT HESITATE. Don't you want someone to think it over, to think about taking one of the most powerful and important jobs in the country. Don't you want that person to mull it over and truly consider if they are up to the task. But no, because if you think about it that is a sign of weakness, and you can't be weak, you have to be gun-ho and unquestioning. Because that worked for us these last eight years.

But McCain and Palin are nothing like those other Republicans... not at all.

Yeah, that frightened me to - there was no reflection whatsoever. Though I wasn't at all surprised given her "mission from God" take on politics. She's on the same wavelength as Bush where decisions are made hard and fast and any thought that goes into the process is just a distraction. Personally, I think she's the love child of Bush and Cheney. I think they're praying McCain's health gives.
