Lethal sticker shock.

I've been in shock for the last couple weeks, and I'm only now starting to recover.  The last of the bids came in for the work we need done on our house. I'd been dreading a number around $20,000.00 ( Read more... )

D:

I think I need to repeat myself.

D:

Errr...burn it down? "Faulty wiring?" Argh, I'd be wanting to run, too!

I guess the "proper" thing to do is a deed in lieu of foreclosure...I think?

*lots and lots of hugs*

I'm in the middle of scanning for you...it's getting done. <3

Sorry my computer decided to herk-blargh and shut down, and then repost upon rebooting. Yeah. Awesome.

Hah! Whenever it storms, I have the boys run in circles in the backyard, in the hopes of seeding tornado to tear it down, but no luck so far.

I suspect that a deed in lieu is what we'll wind up doing, but it depends--right now the mortgage company is saying that will leave us owing something like $65,000, with nothing to show for it. It's an icky situation.

Hey Cat,

Wow. I am really so sorry to hear that.

Any chance there is a trade-tech school near your area - you could offer up your house for students to "practice" on? :3

:( I'm sorry for the bad news.

No trade-tech school, or I'd happily offer it up for practice! At this point, my actual plan is to move to Pennsylvania--my parents inherited my grandparents' house, and they've offered it to us as a sort of early inheritance from them. But we need to find jobs out there first, and the boys will have to change schools, and so on, so we're taking it slowly...

Hope all is well--now that I've lost interest in Bleach, I don't keep up with a lot of people on here anymore. Actually, I've been spending too much time playing video games--my social life on the computer has kind of fallen by the wayside. I suspect it'll come full circle eventually, but for now, that's the way things are...

Hi,
I hope you're holding up, even under such tough circumstances.

Yeah, I miss the heyday of LJ back when we were all so in-sync with each other about Bleach, etc., but I guess things grow and change eventually. :3

Take care.

p.s. I still plan to scan and post that awesome HI JET booklet you gave me. I hope you don't mind and that I plan to make sure you get the kudos for it. <333
