I have an awful professor this semester for my "racism" class. Supposedly, the class is supposed to be multiculturalism and diversity but it's actually the most racist thing I've ever seen. For example, the book (which is more ridiculous than the class) says that teachers must try extra hard to develop a good rapport with American Indian kids

That class sounds hellish, although I have to admit from where I'm sitting all those statements seem hilarious. Awful to put on a midterm, funny to read on an LJ.

That book is disgusting. This is why America is such a retarded nation.

I mean, I know my grammar and I apply it when speaking in a professional situation, i.e. class or a job interview, or when I'm writing. But if I'm talking to a friend, I still slip and say things like, "Me and him went to the mall." Big fucking deal. At least I know it's wrong! To me, what the book is saying is that black kids are inferior and don't need to learn the correct way to speak. White kids can be just as bad! Look at Spring - she's fucking brilliant, was on the Dean's list in med school. But she talks like she's washing her laundry in the backwoods of Alabama! Yet I'm quite positive she knows the correct way to speak. So fucking teach the black kids the correct way. They don't have to apply it in daily life, but at least they'll know it.

You're right. What a fucking racist class. I hate that class. Now I'm mad.
