It just had to re-read the previous story to this to familarise myself with it first.

Well after doing that this made much more sense. This just cracked me up so much. How do you manage to put so much innuendo into one chapter?

Donna and 10.5 interactions were what really had me in stitches.

Looking forward to reading more of this.

Point taken - I've now added a little recap under the cut. Glad you're liking it so far.

Innuendo? I must have picked up the habit from Love's Labour's Lost - probably Shakespeare's filthiest play. It's either that or growing up in Blackpool, home of the saucy seaside postcard.

Oh dear, I think we'd better avoid going too far down that road, don't you? Now I can't get Fat Boy Slim's "Toe Jam" out of my head.

A very good arrangement, all told, especially given that Donna and 10.5 share a sensibility. Loved the lovely bit of the Doctor giving in to his feelings for Rose. I suppose that with part of Donna's mind in him, 10.5 isn't as attached to Rose as the Doctor is. She's nice, but that's just not the way he leans.

Glad to see this, and looking forward to more!

The funny thing is, it seems so logical once you start thinking about it. And the contrast between a very romantic relationship and a more earthy one is very nice.

You're right, it seems to make perfect sense! And it feels so good to see Rose back with the Doctor, as they both wanted so much. I smiled at the snowflakes -- John and Penny were writing about snowflakes on different planets in my story, back in the chapter when Penny met Jackie.

By the way, I assume you intended to put most of your story under a cut? It seems to be malfunctioning.

I've been having a lot of difficulty with LJ cuts ever since I downloaded Firefox Three - I've had another twiddle and I hope it's working now.

The snowflake idea originally came from a lovely picture swankkat did of the two of them looking at a snowflake. I wanted to restore that sense of wonder to him.

Hee! Okay, this is the only possible way it could have worked. Love it!

Well, I'm struggling with the next bit but it certainly has potential.

Ah, that seems to be an unpopular opinion, but I'll admit to being a bit of a Brown-not-Blue gal myself. I'm not quite sure if Jenny's going to show up in this story, but thanks for the nice comment anyway.

I’ve read this twice over now and wanted to leave a comment to it before my memory fails me again and I forget, because this is lovely and gives everybody what they need. I’m still very much in the Tenth Doctor’s camp (as opposed to my being a fan of Ten II), which as you know is a deeply unpopular place to be in fandom right now.

I am so very glad that the Doctor is finally letting himself give in to how he feels about Rose; if the one thing he learns from this is that he doesn’t always have to be the one to sacrifice everything to the so-called ‘common good’, then I’ll be content.

And the idea of Donna and Ten II getting together is inspired!

I must look up the Mayo interview, isn't it on podcast somewhere? And as for the Oedipus thing, I do understand that - but I was thinking of the stories you hear from time to time about siblings separated at birth who fall for each other when they meet as adults.

As for the specials, I'm keeping an open mind on them. The latest (in the SFX mag interview) is we know he'll be on his own, with guest-stars dropping in, but there's also been a tantalising promise of something "absolutely huge" at the end of the Christmas ep.

I've been very close to giving up with this one, so thanks enormously for making me feel better about it.

I'm very glad you're enjoying it, because I was thinking of you as I wrote and wanting you to know you aren't alone. Stay with the stories that make you feel good. I'm loving the Chaos-verse at the moment - it reminds me that the Doctor is quite capable of being deeply happy and fulfilled.
