What a lovely ending. I was in tears, as I was at the end of Lord of the Rings. Brilliant job.

It made me cry, too. The LOTR bit is so beautiful, it often has that effect on me, and the movie did it full justice, I think. The theme of the Doctor surrendering his immortality seemed to tie in quite nicely to the other story.

That was probably my favourite of all the post-JE fics that I've read.

I'm very flattered, because there are some wonderful ones out there, and I can enjoy them whatever my personal views on JE. But it was nice to get this one out there, too, and leave the original Doctor with his Rose.

I love you. You wrote what I (very nearly, but not quite) had wanted to see, and you showed how beautifully and perfectly it could be done. And you quoted from my very favoritest book in the whole world (LOTR).

"You cannot always be torn in two..." makes me misty-eyed every time, because it speaks to so many things, even to us ordinary humans.

Thank you.

Thank you. That was exactly my aim. One lovely thing was that I'd actually forgotten the names of Sam's wife and daughter, but it was as if my subconscious had remembered them when the name "Nellie" came, apparently from nowhere, for the Doctor and Rose's little girl.

I hope you have a lovely holiday season.
