It seems straightforward ... you can't afford it, your son has an important medical appointment, you're uncomfortable being used as a cover story/lying ... so the answer clearly has to be a guiltless no to what she's asking. If she were a true friend she would understand and respect your decision. Just stick to your guns and ignore her nagging, and tell her calmly "I said no and my answer won't change no matter how many times you ask." No apologies because you have nothing to be sorry about. If it were me, wouldn't get involved in ratting her out, tbh, unless the husband was a good friend. You don't need drama in your life, you've got Frankie to focus on right now, in your place I'd just back away quietly from this toxic friend. And watch your back with this one. She's a liar and a betrayer and a user. That's not good friend material. Good luck.
