How crazy? Well first off all I'm posting to Live Journal for the first time in ages! But it's the only place I can vent and NOT have my family or my current employers listening in on my every move

Hi Jen! I'm sorry you found yourself in a bad situation! What do you mean with "he let me go when I was pregnant"? Did they fire you because you were expecting Frankie?!
I understand when you said that your current job is crap and you feel very stressed about it, unfortunately nowadays it's often like this, at least in Italy. They take advantage of the crisis and of the fact that many people need jobs and they know it would be difficult to find another one, and therefore they explouit them. :(
Since your previous employers are so desperate to have you back but you can go working for them because it would be impossible to reach Bishop without a car, isn't there the possibility for them to make you work from home? If I understand well, you worked in a graphic company, making advertisments for your client. Could you work from home and going to Bishop only to receive and to deliver your assignments? Here we work a lot in this way with our external consultants...
They "let me go" because they decided it was to stressful for me during my pregnancy. Instead of a regular employee I was a freelancer so legally they could do that.
I've told them several times I'd do it in a heartbeat if I could work from home and they've looked into it. The cost to do it (they'd have to upgrade all the equipment, new software, etc) is just to high for them. But the plus side is, they would pay me very well knowing I would have a long commute plus need a place to live and food for money on top of the regular pay.
When we go up on the 17th, we're going to see what we can arrange. Maybe they'll co-sign for a second car for us? I just don't know. I'd love to do it, but there's just too many variables we'd have to deal with.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, then! Let's hope they can give you a second car, or give you a increase of salary that would allow you to buy one!
