Out of curiosity...where could I find this fruit? I am the only vegetarian in our system and sometimes eat stuff I dont really want to because its all we have. Tomorrow we are going to buy some fruits and veggies so I am very curious about this new found fruit.

I found it at a grocery store called super H.
Here is their website. http://www.hmart.com/.

If you find one here is a video of how to open one.

that makes me really curious.
fruit that tastes like custard??
I mostly just wanna see it, smell it. I doubt I'd like it. I don't like custard or things with squishy texture (like pudding, frosting, whipped cream, etc).

It is squishy with a bit of stringyness with an overpowering tropical scent and flavor. I like the
smell a lot.

warning: smell before you commit and buy. it is not for everyone. last time i saw them in h-mart in silver spring, a year ago july, i noticed they were in an open freezer. is that to keep the small down?

I think so, though rarely H mart gets fresh Durians.

We smelled quite a few durians before we settled upon
the one we got. It was delicious ;-)
