1) Unless the listing says "immediately" or has a specific start date or range, most jobs will be flexible in regards to when you start. Many applications have a field for "available to start on" with a date you fill in, and some employers will be understanding. Most likely many of the jobs you'll see now weren't meant to be filled until the fall anyway. 2) It might actually take the companies months to get back to you. It depends on the company. Some will filter their resumes within a few days, others weeks, and if you do go onto the next round (the interview round) it might be a while before it's actually your turn. Again, many of the jobs you see weren't meant to be filled until the fall anyway.
Thirding "apply NOW". You'll find that getting a job after college may not be as easy as you think it will be. Additionally, if you DO manage to score an interview, even if it's for a job you think you might not like or the job is stupid or something, GO ANYWAY. it's good practice.

A lot of companies will hold resumes for a few months as a 'just in case' measure, anyway.
