The Big Read

Dec 03, 2008 19:24

The Big Read reckons that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they've printed. Well, let's see.

1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.
2) Italicize those you intend to read.
3) Reprint this list in your own LJ so we can try and track down these people who've read 6 and force books upon them.

Lots of books under the cut )

That list, it seems like either you're the person who would have read way more than six books on it or you wouldn't have read any books on it at all. How do you read six of these (mostly) amazing books and decide, "well, that's it, back to Confessions of a Shopaholic: Cougar Years!" for me?

Well, a lot of them I read for school and didn't necessarily enjoy. And then there's "The Da Vinci Code", which...Ehhhh.

lol I know a lot of people read a lot of them from school, but I was never asked to read most of those for school, which is why I think I'm so far behind. I do have most of those on a list of books TO read though.

I've read at least a quarter of them. At least a dozen of those were of my own choice. And a lot of them are series, which counts as 5 or more for most of them, and I read EVERYTHING in a series when I read it. Well... except the Sillmarrillion. I couldn't get through it. It was just too painful for me.
