Just over a year ago, I saw a Zesty Lemon Cthulhu at my normally-quite-boring grocery store. I simply had to buy it, but didn't end up using it in any cooking myself. I named my an alien, took a fewphotos, then presented it to nesfan and her husband as a hosting prezzie at their Thanksgiving dinner. I believe they put it to good use.
Your description of what it did to the butter leaves me wondering what spritz cookies would taste like if flavored with it. Would the "little bitterer" turn into extra tang and flavor in cookies?
Cthulu Vodka was one of the things I made for last years' Halloween-themed Mad Science party at Arisia. It was vodka with Buddha's Hand and candied hibiscus flowers in it, served in a large, creepy-looking glass jar. Very tasty, and very creepy with its reddish tone (from the hibiscus flowers), and its eldrich horror tentacles floating in it. (The hibiscus flowers also looked all tentacle-y.)
I can't find any photos of it online; I assume they exist on Flikr somewhere.
