I'm thinking that this may be an actual baseball team and all that would be necessary to solve it would be to find a roster of all teams and match them up by name, otherwise there is absolutely no logical way of discerning this as far as I can tell. If however you can prove me wrong, please do so but explain it.

If it's an actual baseball team, then I don't know about it...
I did solve it, and I left the answers at work, but I'll send them next week.
I solved it by creating a grid listing the names of the players down the side and the positions they play at the top. Then I made an X in each box that couldn't be true. I marked the players marital status along the edges, and this allowed me to find more positions that players couldn't fit with. I just went over and over it, using the new information I gathered with the sentences I listed, and eventually I filled in every box.

I learned it from logic puzzle workbooks... They sell them at the grocery store in the same section as the crossword puzzles and the horoscope books. It's cheesy, really. This is the first time I've ever had the patience and focus to complete one.

Never in a bazillion years would I have the willpower to begin to figure that mess out.
Whatever is it for?
