1. as far as I know, thats untrue.

2. I believe they have to be .mp4s, which generally play on quicktime.
I'd suggest going to the quicktime website and try it out by getting one or two of their movie trailers.

Yeah, mp4 seems to ring a bell. Good idea.

It certainly works on several computers, but cannot bridge the insurmountable gulf between PC and Mac. So long as your mommy's computer originates from the same bevy of conspirators you'll be fine.

http://www.apple.com/itunes/videos/ should help re: video. The ones I've downloaded are .mov suffixed, but I don't have any idea what any of that means.

Good, that's really helpful.
I'm going to call Jeanette tomorrow about soap and lipbalm making.

I know you can use multiple / different computers. KP plugged hers into my computer once and downloaded a lot of my music.
Only thing is, when you do that, it wipes out everything you had on your i-pod at first.

As far as the movie thing goes, I have no idea. Mine is oldschool. No colour. Definitely no movies.

So if I set it up on this computer, I can also set it up on mine, but it will erase all the files?

Not necessarily. I think iTunes used to, by default, automatically update the 'Po', replacing all that exists in the little gizmo with all that's on the computer, BUT in new versions of iTunes it defaults to MANUAL fiddling - if it does wipe it out at first, go into iTunes>preferences>iPod to change updates to manual. Bitcho.

Wait wait wait...when I stopped updating from a computer and started updating from an iBook, all my files that had originally been on iTunes/iPod were erased and I had to re-register the iPod to my new laptop. I downloaded a program where I can go onto other people's computers and get their songs without losing mine, the onlyproblem is once they're on there using this program, you can't get them off because they won't show up in iTunes to be deleted.
I hope that was helpful in some way.
