I always thought artritis was for old people... but my boss at the NCH has it. Her diet is so restricted, trying to keep it at bay... donation made.

Not at all unfortunately. Mum had it from her twenties I think (scrubbing stone floors on her knees didn't help), and Lynn and David were both caught early too. It's a horrible disease to watch it happening to someone you care about.

Thank you.

Wow I always thoguht it was a condition not a disease. My folks both suffer from it in their joints, hope the run goes ok. Will remember to send up cash in my next letter. I swear.

Thank so much, but really, don't send cash in the mail. A bank draft or crossed check fine, or hold on to it till you see me next, but plain cash in the mail is asking for it to be stolen.

(wandered over here from inannajones)

your bones have been warped so badly in the course of the disease, that you remain in constant pain for the rest of your life

*nods vehemently* Having studied osteoarchaeology, I've seen the results of arthritis... it ain't pretty. Playing the piano for years seems to have buggered up my hands somewhat, and the humidity at the moment is causing some discomfort. I hope for your sake it's later rather than sooner.

(sorry for the repeated posting/deleting of this comment, I'm being crap with html today!)

So do I. I imagine some days I can feel the precursor of it in my hands, but then I use my hands an awful lot, so it's more likely to be strain than anything else. In the case of most of my family, the arthritis has been brough on/made worse by accidents involving the breaking of bones, so *touch wood*, given that I've broken nothing to date, hopefully I will be safe a good while longer.

(no worries, I'm glad to chat)
