When Is a Slate Not a Slate? or Why Is the Puppy Sad?

Last night I was made aware of two things: that the Sad Puppy 4 Recommendation List has been released and that I am on it, for my novella Speak Easy.

You are an ethical person. I have every confidence that you'll do the right thing whatever happens.

Would it be helpful to talk to some of the other authors who've been nominated and act (or don't act) collectively?

I am not a Puppy, indeed last year I opposed them unequivocally and No Awarded everything on the Puppy Slate(s). (And how bad is their rep that I feel the need to say so, but it's their rep and they worked hard to earn it ( ... )
