$135/year for a shell account seems a trifle excessive.

There should be special rates for people who remember when Weird was a conference on CoSy.

Actually there is a special rate: if you're telnet only shell account, (i.e. not ever going to use his incoming phone lines) then he's charging half that amount: $67.50 per year.
