Eye Cables? Really?

Most of the fallacies that come to mind if, indeed I ever ponder the word, are external. The one I have chosen to write about is one I made up myself when I was very young. It was one of my first attempts to understand my blindness.

I don’t remember how old I was when I began to wonder what made me unique. I know that the very thing that was my ( Read more... )

I was not that creative as a child. I just knew I couldn't see, and that was all. I love your imagination and creativity.

Thank you. Looking back, it was not well thought-out, but if you are a three-year-old, I guess that's the best you can do. (smile)

This is a great and really wonderfully detailed piece and a great remembrance of your childhood understandings, and concepts!

You bring us into the thought process and prove how families can help but also hinder progress in these areas. Nicely worked!

Thank you, not only for your kind comment, but also for your thoughts about the actual writing. I'm always open to growth and knowing if I did something well, or something I can learn from that wasn't done as well. I appreciate the way you do this.

I can imagine why you might come up with something so unusual to conceive of what was missing with sight. How do you explain what that sense is to someone who does not have it? It would be like explaining sound to someone who was deaf-- the examples all require that you hear in order to understand the principle.

Your ideas about this were really interesting. Children are so creative, and something that makes the eyes work much as your hands did... from a child's perspective, that actually makes sense.

Thank you. I was and am still never content with the answer "because" I always wanted to know why and as much as I could about something. I guess I got that from my father. I got a lot from him. Some of this is very fortunate, and some of it I just have to learn to live with.

I kinda liked that Logical fallacy and as a kid that was pretty amazing of you to think about it. A interesting take! Liked it!
