Well said. I agree entirely; I too am sick of the creeping erosion of our freedoms, and the ever-greater interference of authority in people's lives.

Politically incorrect? Whose politics?

Children suffer because patriarchal relationships define them as chattel and wholly subject beings, and their weakness and vulnerability make them ultimately defenceless in the face of evil and/or stupidity and/or indiscipline. And even if we were all monitored 24/7 some people would find ways of subverting that monitoring, or deciding to take whatever consequences were meted out.

That asid, that doesn't mean we can't try to find better ways of making things better for children at risk.
