so...once I get a job I am buying GRE and LSAT study textbooks. And I am going to start keeping a dictionary by my bed so anytime I read a word I do not know, I can look it up and thus improve my vocabulary

I actually own a copy! It is such an excellent book..another one of those easy to read but is brilliantly insightful and eye opening. I'm not even doing it any remote justice by describing it here. Have you ever read The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran?
