Public service announcement: you should be watching How I Met Your Mother. I love that show. I'm still a little ways into season two but I have been absolutely adoring it. It is so funny and gut-wrenching and just all-around great. It is probably surprising to no one that Barney Stinson is my favorite. <3 Neil Patrick Harris <3

I don't know what took me so long, but I only just got on board with the Robin/Barney thing, even though I've been watching HIMYM since it premiered. I think it was an overzealous adherence to Barney's own bro code and the fact that Robin was Ted's ex. HA. Sad.

Anyway, I just started reading that fic and it's amazing so far! I love when you rec things; you have amazing taste and I read things in other fandoms that I would never have found if not for you. That Calvin and Hobbes story you recced a while back is something I push on other people now. Thanks!

Because I have been in slash fandoms for TOO LONG I kept trying to figure out some way to make HIMYM have slash in it, in my head. And failing! Robin/Barney hits some of those same buttons for me, though, because it's het but in spite of being very much a girl, Robin acts a looot like a guy. And I adore her for it.

That fic gets even better as it goes on. I was pretty much floored by the awesome there. And that is fantastic to hear! That story is so great.

This is how I feel about telling you to watch HIMYM, miss "but I am allergic to sitcoms"! I mean, I COULD keep harping at you to watch it, but I don't think you'll do it until you feel like doing it. Which is what happened with Dr. Horrible and me! I needed the proper impetus (aka an upswelling of intense love for NPH).
