I've been working for a whole four days, and already my life has fallen back into that weekday/weekend pattern. You know the one: Monday is for wishing it was still the weekend, Tuesday for realising you should have done laundry on the weekend, Wednesday for planning your weekend, Thursday for working, Friday for planning your night out. Tights are one of those things which I would like to blame on the patriarchy. I reckon it's stockings that needs to be blamed on the patriarchy, but then I do see them as middle class slut wear, and tights as something a bit more sensible and not slutty :P

Can you not wear trousers to work?

I can, I just find it...*surveys wardrobe*...about 6 times harder to find smart ones that fit, than skirts.

Ah, the joys of being an honorary foreigner! I hadn't thought about the slut aspect of stockings, but they are rather FHM, aren't they?

They're not that much of an improvement, actually, as they're still usually a bit short, and the stay-up ones don't always do what's on the tin. But I really don't like the crotch or waistband on any tights I own. Coin toss time!
