I really, really like the Angel of the North. I only discovered it a few months ago, when I started flying from Newcastle airport. Today K stopped and let me take some photos ( Read more... )

Just to put this in perspective, here are some comparative wingspans:
Male albatross (largest winged bird): 3.6m
Boeing 787-3 'Dreamliner': 51.6m
Angel of the North: 54m

I saw that on my way up to Newcastle last month. It's not too far away from where I used to live!
