I spent this afternoon sitting in the sunshine 'helping out' at my mum's class picnic. (I don't do stuff to do with cooking meat, not the least because I never learned how, and there's only so much setting up one can do.) It went very well as we were parked on the other side of the building from the massive swarm of bees which suddenly appeared

You're not a bad person for not wanting to look at the planet up close, just as long as you leave it for others to do so.

That swarm does sound amazing. My biology teacher (I think) told us how a friend once woke up in the garden with a load of bees sitting on her. She stayed calm and got someone to call the beekeeper, and didn't get stung once.
