summary: Loveless, Harry Potter, The Little Mermaid, Nana, Nodame Cantabile. Five sentences for five different universes.

0: loveless (the love is a zero sum game mix)

0.1
Koichi's tattoo spreads elegantly at the base of his neck, scrawled across his shoulders like the truncated beginning of wings, like a brand; Tsuyoshi trails his fingers across it every time he walks behind him.

0.2
Tsuyoshi's mark curls from behind his ear down his neck, following the winding lock of his hair; it's his chest that hurts when it appears, like a thousand needles tattooing a name across his heart.

0.3
"We are peerless, we stand alone."

0.4
At meal times, Koichi sits on one table, surrounding by the adoring teams of heedless and groundless, Nagase a solid presence next to him - Tsuyoshi sits on another with Okada and Inocchi; table next to table, they sit back to back half a metre away: Yara takes the long way to his seat, avoiding the spaces between them.

0.5
Their first match, Koichi bleeds and Tsuyoshi freezes, so horrified that all the spells in his head trickle away; "I'm okay," Koichi says, his quiet voice loud in the sudden hush, and gives one of the only orders he dares: "Fight."

nb: heedless, Yara and Akki. groundless, Maachin and Yone. timeless, Inocchi and Okada. reckless, Nagase and Taichi. brainless, Yamapi and Jin.

1: hogwarts (the once upon a time mix)

1.1
Slytherin has bad enough a reputation that whispers follow Tsuyoshi down the hall, dark magic and wizards that turned; in first year, only two Gryffindors dare to smile at him, one exuberantly bright, the other shyly from behind the first's elbow.

1.2
Dogs aren't on the approved list of pets but Tsuyoshi has never been one for rules.

1.3
Koichi is small and light; he flies hunched close into his broom, tight spirals and daring dives chasing after a sparkling glint of light that disappears if he glances away.

1.4
"You're going for Seeker, right?" the bored captain holding trials asks Tsuyoshi, looking his slight frame up and down but Tsuyoshi shakes his head with a tight, determined smile; "Beater."

1.5
The professors like to make them sit in alphabetical order a little too much, Domoto besides Domoto so they end up working together in Potions and Charms, bumping elbows and wands and hardly speaking; they have nothing in common.

2: under the sea (the twice shy mix)

2.1
"You know," Tsuyoshi says slowly, musingly - only his head and shoulders are out of the water, his tail a shadow of a swish beneath the glint of sunlight on water: "You're sort of strange for a human."

2.2
Koichi finds his magic in the glass-like reflection of still water, in the rapidly moving feet of a dance sketching out a story passed down from generations long gone.

2.3
Koichi shrugs, trailing one hand slowly in the water and watching the ripples; he's lying on his stomach, eye lazily slitted, almost dozing against the sun warmed planks of the pier: "You haven't met that many of us."

2.4
Tsuyoshi comes from seas that are deep and blue, fathoms down where the only light comes from the phosphorescence of tiny tiny creatures; breaking through the surface feels like struggling against a rip tide, trying to whirl him away with careless power and the unfiltered light makes him squint, the dancing sparkle of sunlight on water makes him hide his eyes- the air presses down on him unforgiving and his gills flutter helplessly for a long, breathless moment until his lungs remember that they can work here also.

2.5
"I don't think I want to."

3: nana (the three's a crowd mix)

3.1
"I don't know much about music," Koichi says sheepishly, "But I'll come to support you no matter what."

3.2
Tsuyoshi deposits Koichi in a stool at the bar before going on stage, with a strict word to the bartender to keep an eye out on him; he's had enough of people wandering off to last a lifetime.

3.3
"Nagase Tomoya," the lead singer of TOKIO says, giving them a confident smile and holding out his hand in a Western handshake; Koichi, surprised, takes it automatically and squeaks when he's pulled in close.

3.4
"Congratulations on your show!" Tsubasa chirps, brandishing a homemade banner; Tsuyoshi smiles at him fondly and asks, "Did you come all the way to Osaka alone?" surprised when Tsubasa shakes his head no and turns to look at a somewhat familiar blondish figure standing over by the bar.

3.5
"KOU-CHAN," Nagase hollers, looking over Tsuyoshi's head and waving enthusiastically; Tsuyoshi rocks back, wide-eyed with surprise, when Koichi goes over to Nagase first to be laughingly swept up in a hug before offering Tsuyoshi a still bright smile.

4: nodame (the four chambers mix)

4.1
There's two Domoto nameplates stacked on top of each other at the mailboxes - Tsuyoshi, in apartment 202, thinks it's a mistake and Koichi, 204, doesn't notice at all.

4.2
The apartments are only partly soundproofed and at night, when he's meant to be practicing, Koichi likes to lean against the wall separating their apartments and listen to the half-muted strains of a melancholic piano sonata or the passionate chords of classic Spanish guitar.

4.3
Koichi has long, elegant hands and a fine boned face; he'd be popular, Tsuyoshi thinks, if only he did something with his hair once in a while - like brush it - and weren't so damned strange.

4.4
"My muse!" Nagase says adoringly, pulling Koichi onto his lap; Tsuyoshi rolls his eyes at their antics and pointedly tugs a willing Koichi back to his side.

4.5
"He's composed and elegant like a prince... You're not going out?" Okada says overly casually and Tsuyoshi turns to give him a flat-eyed, disbelieving stare; "He's really not what you think he is."
