hahahahahahha

i call myself a girl and yet, i still do NOT know how to use a curling iron.! so embarassing.

10th (unsuccessful) attempt and failed again.
result: over-fried clump of hair.

on a bright note: got myself a new pair of specs today - all boring, black rimmed and rectangularish (think uma thurman in my super ex-girlfriend). maybe ( Read more... )

i sucked at using the curling iron my first few times, but learned a few things from a salon here...

tips for curling iron...use hairspray on the lock of hair before using the curling iron. if u hear a lil sizzling from the hairspray being there, that's normal...never have the lock of hair in the iron for longer than 20-25 seconds, it will go flat again =)

quick question:

do you curl your hair all around the iron before you release that long thing which holds your hair in place. or... do you release it to hold the end of a section of your hair before you start twirling your hair around the iron?

do you have any idea what i'm talking abt? hahahahh

lol...i do know what u're talking about...what i do is spritz hairspray all along the lock of hair first (not much) and then put the end of the hair in the 'thingy' that holds the hair, closest to the bottom (closest to where u hold the iron)...and then twirl it around...make sure the lock of hair doesn't overlap much around the iron as u go around...

if that sounds confusing maybe i could do a picture demonstration! haha

if you have the time to, that'll be great! :)

also, does it matter if u twirling the hair around the iron "inwards" or "outwards" (ie clockwise or anticlockwise)?

and, are you supposed to go full circle around the iron or slant-ish.

i tried during my lunch break just now (got motivated with ur comment haha) and i noticed some curls turned out nice and some just... weird.
