Now that E can flip around on will, every nap has become an epic battle. I've finally decided that she needs to learn how to flip to her tummy when she's ready for sleep. I can't keep going in there and doing it for her. The next few weeks are going to suck. It's going to be sleep training all over again ( Read more... )

You can also mix the cereal with apple or pear juice and water. =) Or you can get the cereal that already has formula in it and all you do is add water. Formula is spendy so I tried to avoid buying as much as I could.

Irritation is the mother of necessity with babies. Evie will learn QUICKLY to flip back on her tummy or sleep on her back. =) Hang in there. This, too, shall pass.

I think I might try mixing it with juice. I tried the formula this morning and she didn't really like it. It's very bland tasting in comparison to sweet goodness of breast milk. How are things with you? I've been thinking about you!

Okay, I shouldn't laugh because I know where you're coming from! But it just gets worse. Even if he's whiny, rubbing his eyes, pulling his ears, as so as we put him in his crib, he's SNAP...up on his feet, gripping the crib rails. It's kind of like "who, me? I'm not tired! what made you think I was tired?? give me another chance!"

Our brilliant solution as lame parents? We turned down the monitors. He seems to have the idea now (although he cries alot more at naptimes than he used to). And when I check on him, he's usually got his head on one of his little pillows with his arm tossed over a stuffed animal.

I still feel like shit when he cries himself to sleep. But I guess that's why the monitors have volume control!

I'm glad the cereal is working for you. It was a serious turning point for us. Trey was a pretty unpleasant child until he started solid foods. Then we were like, "ohhhhhhhhhhhh, he's HUNGRY".

These developmental milestones really mess up the whole sleeping thing. I'm going to get the Ferber book today and hope that I don't have to use it. My problem is that I want to rush in even when she's fussing and not really crying.

This morning I let her roll around on the floor for a good 30 minutes. Guess what, she went down very easily for her nap. I think I need to start letting her burn off more energy. Perhaps that will help the nap situation.
