Sarah Lawrence University is really crazy. They have an amazing writing program (you essentially write a 20-page thesis for every course you take) but the students are pretty uniformly militant liberals and agressive nonconformists. So agressive and free-spirited, in fact, that it's just annoying and it all came off as kind of pretentious. They do practice what they preach, though; earlier this year they had a school-sponsored orgy in the middle of the cafeteria. Also, a minority society of students aren't vegetarians. 70% women and it's easy to get in, though.
Don't go to Wesleyan. Wesleyan sucks.
I think my mom wants me to apply ED to Columbia now, because we visited and I kinda liked it. I think she just likes it more since it's closer to home (which I don't care about) and it's an Ivy League school. She's right that there are more internship opprtunities and career paths in journalism at Ivies. However, I just noticed that the current editor of the New York Times is a Pomona grad, and they do have a campus-run internship program, so I don't think that's really a big problem as long as I'm willing to put work into it. Which I am.
So, yeah, Columbia is up there, but I'm still going to do ED at Pomona.
