And grammar only gets more annoying when it's a non-Indoeuropean language since it differs in oh so many ways that it just gives you a headache (annoying if you speak an Indoeuropean language that is - I suppose at least some Asian languages would give you a head start). There are so many ways of expressing yourself that you take for granted as a normal way of speaking, and then you realize that it's something that comes with the language you're speaking.
(Even my boyfriend complains about Japanese grammar and he knows more languages than I have fingers... (and I have a full set!))
BUT the grammar IS the key to any language. That is what separates you from being able to buy a hot-dog and actually speak (or read). Boring, hard - but immensely fulfilling once you've grasped it. It's jumping into the deep end, of course, but it's also where the real rewards are to be found!
I hate grammar. *pouts* LOL But I know how important it is. It's just so frustrating sometimes. >_< I'm getting it a little at a time so I have hope that soon it won't be that hard and I just keep taking it a step at a time. ^_^
Writing another language is hard. It was hard for me in German, and is hard for me in Finnish. But, practice is always a good thing. Just keep working at it. It will pay off. ^_^ ♥♥♥
Writing in another language isn't so hard for me... As long as it's something like French or Finnish or Italian, etc... When you have an entirely new "alphabet"... OMG it's scary to think about having to learn all those symbols. Which, in Japanese, there are literally thousands. DD:
Yeah, it is much harder in that regard. I just have issues remembering how to spell things in a different language. I have a hard enough time with spelling in English much less something else. LOL.
