*nod nod* Languages tend to be a lot easier for children - ideally, they learn their second or third languages before they're twelve years old. (I still wish my mother had taught me German as a child, since I'm stuck attempting to learn it now.) But if it's any consolation, I was reading an article about people that are multi-lingual, and most of them learned their second/third languages when they were well into adulthood. So it is possible. It's a pain in the ass since you don't have quite the same ability to learn it like a child, but it can be done.
I always thought that if I have children, I would like to teach them at least 2 foreign languages. I watched my aunt teach her little girl Portuguese (cause she's from Brazil), and now Sarah's fluent in that and English. Kids are so amazing to teach things to. I wish we could all retain that ability as we got older. :-/
Yes, I am very happy that I've been so diligent about studying. Some days are better than others, but I'm really trying hard. Usually I probably would have given up by now. But I really, really, really love Japanese. ^_^ *HUGS* Thank you for all your encouragement!
