What to wear???!??!!

My niece's wedding is in a month and I don't know what to wear!   It's in Pittsburgh, at an estate-turned-conference center.   Ceremony at 5:30 in the evening with cocktail hour immediately following "on the deck" and the reception (dancing) in the "glass atrium". I don't think that early means formal.  Knowing my s-i-l, she would probably say "

A nice summer-weight linen dress with a sweater or light jacket would probably work well. Silk or rayon would also work. I would say between knee and mid-calf. There are some nice ones out there which would look good with your height and build.

A summer hat would probably look quite nice, if it goes with the sweater/jacket and the dress :-)

I think the Xmas party dress will be excellent for the dinner, if you wear light shoes.

In terms of dress to wear to the wedding, I am clue-free. However, more formal is never bad, ime.
