Aw, I wish the transition wasn't so hard but with so many things changing at once. *I* say the hassle will be worth it to get your dog (but then I would, right?) and when he and your hub get there all of the things that seem so weird and unfamiliar and yucky now will suddenly take on a softer edge. In any big move there are bound to be loose ends and unpleasant surprises, but you are handling them... and well! This is the part that hurts but all the benefits are still to come. Hang in there, love.
I know I will feel differently when I see his cute little face, but when I just got a quote that it's going to cost $1500 to ship him (as opposed to the $700 we were originally quoted), I think otherwise.
I was thinking the other day about how you have to prune rosebushes in order for them to produce more of their beautiful flowers. If I am going to grow, there has to be a little pruning involved.
On a side note, I keep thinking about all the awesome things you're doing in your life. You're my idol! And the publishing stuff just proves it.
Idol? Pshaw. Only for my stunning fashion arrangements I hope. :D
$1500 is a big ouch, no doubt. But 3 years without your dawg?? That's only $500 a year! You're right about the flowers... every flower needs to be clipped to spur on more growth, the plants whole goal is to flower, go to seed and die. If not for these rejuvenating bits of pruning we'd all just stagnate and drop off. Don't ever go to seed!
And you know, you do your own fair bit of inspiring...
I just have to say again that I think you are a rock star for moving there! I love to live vicariously through you. I know it must be tough, but in the end, I think it will turn into an awesome experience for both of you. Hang in there!
