My big boss, Shawna, did Atkins and she lost a lot of weight.
I love my carbs though, so I can't see myself being successful with any of these. Something tells me if I just committed to a work out plan, I'd lose the weight. It worked this summer, and I haven't gained any of it back. *knock on wood*

I've been on it four days now. It's somewhat like Atkins, but I'm like you. I can't live without carbs of some kind. I liked the sound of South Beach be because you start off without carbs, dairy, or fruit for two weeks. That's Phase 1. You can eat all the non-fat and low-fat cheese and meat you like, as well as most veggies and eggs. In Phase 1 typical results after two weeks are weight loss of 8-13 lbs.
After the first two weeks you move on to Phase 2, where you start slowly adding carbs, fruit, and dairy back in. You continue to lose weight like this, but at a slower rate.
Once you hit your target weight you move on to Phase 3, which allows you to add in a few more carbs, I believe, and if you slip and gain a few pounds, you move back to Phase 2.
Phase 1 isn't a great deal of fun. I really miss bread. But it's not been as bad as I think it could be, and knowing that in eleven days I get to eat some carbs again is a wonderful thing. :)

See, and my problem is that since I live alone, I don't do a great deal of cooking, so if it's quick and convenient I'm happy. I eat a *lot* of sandwiches. Cooking speghetti is a big deal for me. Plus when I'm at work, there's not exactly great choices to eat while I'm there...

Lots of salads. When I get to Phase 2 I'm hoping I can eat the Subway low-carb wraps. And Arby's has something low-carb now, too. We'll see. :)
