80 Years

My dad would've been 80 today. He was hoping he might live to see 70 but was only 66 when he died. I don't think it's a surprise that he died younger than he would've like since he was in ill health for 50 years of his life (he had ankylosing spondylitis) and when he came down with the pneumonia that killed him, he was in a weakened state, having ( Read more... )

How ever long we have our parents, it's never long enough. My mum was always going to live into her 90's ... so it was a huge shock hen she died at "only" 87. However I am so thankful, and I never thought I would ever say so, that they ae no longer here - they would never have coped with this panemic.

Happy Birthday to your Aunt ... and to your Dad (never stop missing him ... it shows how loved he was)

I sometimes wonder, too, what my father would have been like as he aged if he had had the chance.
