Here's what you said:

Many of you have probably heard the line "God loves you and has good things for you if you just believe in Christ.", or something to that effect. This statement is logically and scripturally false.

The true God of Christianity and the bible does not love all men equally, he loves those who love him (for who he is). And the rest who do not love God for who he is he will destroy.

Me again. If you believe that God only loves those who love him, how do you reconcile that with the Biblical record?

"Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love." (1 John 4:8) The most direct statement in the Bible about God's divine essence states that he is love.

"[Love] does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful." (1 Cor 13:5) True love has no conditions, it sets no terms. That is to say, true love is not predicated on a loving response. True love is given no matter what the response. God, being love itself, loves us whether or not we love him.

"But God shows his love for us in that ( ... )

I do appreciate your candor and cool headed response. I have had more fiery retorts thrown at me for what I believe. Thanks. I must first ask who do you say that Jesus of Nazareth is? And, are you born again? I do not mean to attack you either I just need to know where people are coming from when I debate.

Having said that I will not leave you with nothing to think on, so here's this. You have quoted Romans I must ask you did you know that Romans is written to believers post-conversion. Ergo, any reference to the love of God in that epistle is directed to people who already believe in the Son of God. Read on in that passage and you will see that people pre-conversion are called the enemies of God, not a loving term.

I look forward to here your response.
