walking down the street and seeing familiar and friendly faces. people actually say hi, smile, wave--it's a city with a lot of character, and i love to roam the city...
the people in the end are definitely my favorite thing about madison, but other things that make me love this city are... - the electricity that runs through camp randall, the kohl center, or the fieldhouse during a badger event - state street - monona terrace - picnic point - university ridge (seriously beautiful, to me at least) - the nitty, if you think about it, it's pretty much a requirement that you go there on your birthday, everybody always asks, you going to the nitty? when it's your bday, it's become almost religious in this city, and it's beautiful - then there's this perfect girl from illinois that i love with all my heart that just happens to feel the same way (i know she's not here right now, but in less than two months she'll be back)
I love the terrace. I want to be able to drink on the terrace.
I love seeing faces I know everywhere. I love bascom hill when it is warm. I love Bascom hall, and having classes in there, and not paying attention to my classes in there because Im thinking of the many generations of students who wandered through there. I love that when I talk about my school, I say it with pride. Although I am only in the business school, I love being able to say my school has many awesome departments..engineering, poli sci, womens studies,..so many. I love that I still feel like I am home there, its not a foreign place.
bascom hill when it's warm rules, didn't really go there this spring, but last year i wasted quite a few afternoons there, to add to that, observatory during the winter, nothing like tray sledding
Where to I begin... The first time I walked down State Street I knew I belonged in Madison. The carts across from the bookstore, the specialty shops, coffeehouses...And every time I go there, the feeling is just the same. The only difference is that now I recognize people on the street, and that makes it even better. I love taking naps on Bascom when it's warm. I love running on the lakeshore path and picnics at picnic point (the kind that happen late at night with good friends). I love how almost everyone I've met cares about their grades, but also knows how to have a good time. Or maybe that's just b/c I live in Chadbourne...haha I suppose I love Chadbourne, too. I love celebrating birthdays at the nitty. And I can't wait to sing, "When you say Wisconsin- you've said it all!" again, because it's so true.
oh yea, and there happens to be a boy who lives there who has stolen my heart, but it's ok, he can keep it.
running on the lakeshore path is great too, i've only did it once, when i was much fatter than i am now, but i cursed madison, it snowed the next day after it was around 70... so i've been avoiding it... i'm sure i've told you this...
and that's good, i heard that boy wasn't planning on giving it back anytime soon, something about finding the perfect girl who always knows how to make him smile, and so much more
