The first time I was introduced to someone who did not "believe in evolution" it was explained to me that fossils are merely a trick of the devil to test man's faith. That was back in high school, but I have since been told that my numerous folk who are of that persuasion, both in Texas and Virginia. The first time I sort of erupted, but now I just nod and smile.
